You're such a hack....part II

All right, this North-Easterly facing window has been giving me fits all morning. It's officially impossible to photograph this room. But, I said I would show you my "hack" project, and I will if you'll excuse the bad photography.
After searching literally EVERYWHERE for a cool twin bed with storage, I knew I was on my own. I bought an old captain's bed off Craigslist and took it apart (it was originally two stacked pieces with a total of six drawers). Then I ordered Danish-style tapered wooden legs from Ebay and attached them to the bottom of the frame. I primed and sprayed the whole thing with black semi gloss, and this was the end result: a modern-looking storage bed. We're pretty happy with the results, and the total cost of the project was about $50!

  1. You took it from crap to rad! I need a set of twins for a room and have been having issues finding something cool for cheap...Ikea is not near me so this is a great alternative plan. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thanks, Anonymous! Yep, it was definitely crap...my 10-year old said it looked like a "hillbilly bed". The project was so easy-if you need any help, feel free to let me know!

  3. Wow, love it! Especially like the black lacquer sleekness of it.
